The father and son Pawlik-Zwiebel Duo has been performing together since Ariel started playing violin at age six.  The Duo has now ‘grown up’ and performs professionally across the United States and Europe. 

Father, German pianist Markus Pawlik, has led an international career as a soloist, recitalist and recording artist since winning the Eurovision classical competition, performing in venues as varied as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Munich Herkules Saal, Suntory Hall in Japan, the Louvre in Paris and Davies Hall in San Francisco.  Son, American-German violinist Ariel Pawlik-Zwiebel (18), has been a top prize winner, concertmaster and soloist while growing up in the San Francisco Bay area and has participated in Festivals such as Music@Menlo, Bowdoin and the Salzburg Mozarteum Akademie masterclasses. Ariel also currently studies political science and economics at UCLA. 

Examples of recent engagements of the Duo include performances at the Musikalischer Sommer Ostfriesland Festival, Piano Salon Christophori in Berlin, the Berkeley Hillside Club Concert Series, the Peninsula Holocaust Commemoration ceremony, a joint concert between the San Francisco International Piano Festival with Noontime Concerts in San Francisco, and in cities such as Geneva, Bremen, Phoenix, Pleasanton, San Rafael, Walnut Creek and many others.

The duo finds inspiration for their varied programs through rich and varied backgrounds, drawing on their German and American nationalities and their Eastern European and Jewish ancestry.
